        Apartments arent insulated for dick.

I had 150-175 for a 740 apt. Then when i moved into the house 1600sqft, my biggest electric bill has been 110 bucks, mostly 60-80.

we knocked a hole in our apt wall one time and it went right to the neighbors bedroom, not a damn thing in between the drywall

                THIS.

Our last apt was a 698 sq feet house and we would get raped on our electric bill.

We'd blast the AC at 64 degres and it felt like 7x degrees in the apt and always had to keep our AC on constantly during the summer time. Insulation has a big deal to do with it. Our bill would be in the mid $3xx from June-September.

We now own a house thats 2100 sq feet and our highest bill was $273 and usually ranged from the Low $200s from June-September.

Mine was 175 last month @ 750sqft and 72 degrees.

The winter months are usually at least double what I pay in the summer. I've had < $50 a time or two

145-210$ 1bedroom, 3story condo 975sqft. My issue is that my thermostat is on the 3rd floor and doesn't read the temps on the first 2 floors. This leads to cold halway in the winter (bottom floor) and a hot bedroom (3rd floor) in the summer. There were 2 bills (before I figured the system out) that were around 310$.

What did you do? We used to put a space heater on the 1st floor to let the heat rise up to us at the second floor.

Use the fireplace and fans more and the ac/heat less. I think it just the way my place is setup, dumb mistake on thermostat placement. I did have the doors and windiow re-weather stripped though, that helped with the drafts.

Hmmmm, I might need to try that. Hopefully I'll be in a house next sept. though.
