O'shea's across from Caeser's usually has a $2 game during the day. It gets packed with dirtbags and they have a midget that dances on the bar. It is owned by Harrah's. It beats the crap out of the $10 minimum tables you see on the strip because you can get to put down the $2 and stack up the odds bet. The time before last that I was in there I got on a streak and made six point numbers. I was a popular guy.

Slots-of-fun right beside circus circus is a real shithole but that table they have out on the sidewalk is usually $2 minimum. It is fun to stand out there and see people walk by. Their booze sucks ass though.

Yeah, I've played at O'sheas.. It's a shithole but can be fun and as I recall I did fairly well there. It was in the evening though, so I'm sure it was at least $5 to $10. I remember I had to keep feeding chips to Leah, who was playing black jack at the table right next to me.

I looked at the Slots of Fun table but when we were there it was too packed to get in on. I don't like that it is right up front. Too many dumbasses are drawn to it. I actually like playing craps downtown.. They usually have low daytime minimums as well, and a little less traffic.

Have you played at Ellis Island? We like to go eat there and I always play a little. They have a dinky little craps tub.. Only 2 guys work it and it's like 6' long.. They don't tolerate dice-setting though, for obvious reasons. Every time we go to Ellis Island we eat and win at least enough to cover the meal, if not more. I really like their restaurant. It has the old Vegas feel to it.

On a slower table I often find myself helping out new players, which I really enjoy. The last time we went I started helping a couple that were trying it out for the first time. They literally bought in with like $25 and I saw them later than night with at least a couple of hundred.
The only craps superstitions I've seen come true more often than not are:

if the shooter throws the dice and one or both of them hit someone's fingers hanging too far over the rail at the opposite end of the table, there will be a 7-out, and

if a true "craps virgin" is the shooter, bet heavy on that shooter.

Yeah, dice hitting hands does seem to produce 7, and that is one of the things that does piss me off. Watch the fucking dice and quit waiting until the absolute last second to place a bet.

The Craps virgin / woman shooter hasn't had a great track record for me. I have seen a couple come up with good rolls but more of them did not produce.

Last time in Shreveport a guy next to me took down all of his bets in the middle of my roll and then when I pick up the dice he blurts "I feel a seven coming". Thankfully it didn't, and I hit a couple more numbers before going out, but what pissed me off is that he was such an inconsiderate dick about it. And he was an older guy that had obviously played before.

My first throw, I made the whole table a shit load of money, I rolled for maybe 25 minutes straight. I was so nervous that I didn't bet hardly anything and didn't win any money for myself. It was still fun though.

I have played a lot at the Horseshoe downtown, I guess it is called Binion's now. For a long time they had $3 tables during the day. I usually do pretty well there.

I have never been to Ellis Island, where is that at?

It's on the East side of the strip, a block off. On Koval behind Bally's. It's a very small casino with a restaurant next to a holiday inn or something of the such. We go there for the "cheap" Vegas meal experience. They have their own micro-brewery as well with some decent beer.

Ask for the steak special (not on the menu)- $6.99: 10-ounce steak - Includes potato, bread, green beans and a beer. Their breakfast is good and cheap as well.

Ellis Island Hotel, Casino & Brewery is the place in Las Vegas for a great time that won't hurt your pockets. We have hot games, great beer and the best karaoke in Vegas.

BTW, when I say the old Vegas feel I mean a little dingy and hasn't been remodeled since the 70's or 80's. And check the paper place mat, they used to always have match plays for the table games.

After a roll like that you made many friends at that table.

All this talk of craps is making me want to go to Vegas.

Yeah I'm itching to go back. Haven't been in a couple years, and that was the first, last, and only time I've ever played craps, but it got LODGED in my freakin brain!

Me too.. And we are but not until the end of May.

Leah and I were at the Las Vegas Hilton once, which may have been her first roll, I don't remember for sure. But it was just she and I at the table and she literally rolled for a good 30 minutes. Keep in mind there was nobody else there to slow down the play. Unfortunately I was just covering 2 points (pass / come) and she wasn't repeating too many, but I made some decent coin off that.

I have had some good rolls but the most actual pass-line points I have made is 4 or 5. I seem to roll alot of craps (after the come-out at least) and outside numbers. I would say I set a point and 7 out probably half the time though I do hit alot of 7's on the come out roll as well. The rest of the time I am lucky to knock down 2 - 3 points.

First time I ever threw the dice and only the second table I had ever been on I went from $40 to $600+ before I crapped out. I don't know how long I was the shooter, because it was my birthday and I was drunk but it seemed like forever and no matter what I bet I couldn't lose lol. Needless to say I was addicted to craps after that. My friend that was with me made several hundred as well betting conservative.

You could buy a book, or buy your own table like I did
Only thing about the table is you bet way different than you would with real money. Ive made over 70k starting with $100!

I would love to have a table, but I would end up having to function as the dealer and that would suck.

I would love to have a party and pay a dealer and a stick to come in to work the table.
