I would be willing to bet the kids already hated the police. One of my friends was on a traffic stop one time and the same thing happened to him except the driving off part. He told the guy he had warrants and the guy said I am not going to jail and started rolling up the window. It actually pinned his arm really good and he had to knock out the glass to get his arm loose and then remove the guy from the car. He had a nice deep bruise in his arm. What is sad is that all my assistant chief at the time was concerned with was my friend calling the guy a MF as they got him out.Whos your Daddy?

I don't condone shooting anyone in front of their kids. It could have been handled differently. I know the cop saw the kids on the back seat and should have told the guy to call someone to come and get them or give him the option to call someone, even if the guy drives away, let him go they can follow without getting into a shooting spree...Originally posted by SilverbackLook all you want, she can't find anyone else who treats her as bad as I do, and I keep her self esteem so low, she wouldn't think twice about going anywhere else.

Not saying that's how I would have handled it, but it takes YEARS of training and maturity to make infallible split second decisions.

Especially if he saw the kids in the back seat, thats fucking bullshit to shoot the man in front of his kids and you know it Matt, you're a father too.Originally posted by SilverbackLook all you want, she can't find anyone else who treats her as bad as I do, and I keep her self esteem so low, she wouldn't think twice about going anywhere else.

Everytime I get pulled over im asked to get out of the car.

#1) Quit armchair qb-ing this thing. You're not a cop, and no matter how long you "if" and "but" this, it won't change the outcome.
#2) There was a passenger in the car...he could have driven the kids home. No need to call anyone, "a man was in the front passenger seat and that three children were in the back seat."

#3) Maybe he SHOULD HAVE asked the guy to step out of the car, but do you really think that would have worked? When told he was under arrest, his first thought was to lock the door and roll the window up, and drive off. The fact that a cop was hanging from his SUV didn't slow him down, either. Yeah, he probably woulda stepped right out of the car, peacefully...
#4) Under normal circumstances, yes, it's complete BS to shoot a man in front of his kids. When you're being drug down the street by an SUV? Not so much. What do you think was going to happen next? The cop gains footing on the running boards and the guy slows down, apologizes, bakes the cop some cookies and turns himself in?
Quit making excuses for scumbag pieces of shit. Excessive force? Really? The criminal's plan obviously wasn't working, and kept driving after the cop points a gun at him and repeatedly says to stop the car (in which his arm is still trapped). Is it so far-fetched to think the lowlife would have swerved to make him fall and get drug until his arm came loose (or let loose), or that he would have run him into a barrier, or anything else that endangers his life? He's already proven that he'll drag the guy down the street once. The LEO's actions were warranted and justified. END OF STORY.
