Forums in general are dying. LS1tech is a ghost town, same for just about every other forum I used to go to.

That seems to be the common misconception. So here's a long winded post for some reason:

The eocf overclocking forum lost 91% traffic since all time high, because the hobby changed.

Forums where this isn't the case are still thriving. Like the garage journal. They also do a lot more like tool reviews and building material blog posts and other interesting stuff. This forum does nothing but allow you to make posts. The owner isn't going around talking to mustang owners, taking pics of their mods, recording local mustangs racing and posting the videos here, etc. It's pretty clear that the owner isn't nearly as interested in the hobby as he used to be. It should be owned by a salivating mustang enthusiast.

There's a honda accord forum that's doing fine, that has been there since the early days of the vbulletin program. 2000 iirc. Xenforo program having more and more sales every year. This place lookin like it's 2005.

You have to actually do something. The lazy days of user supplied success are what's dying. Places that pump some effort in are pretty happenin' places.

And for anyone mentioning facebook, it isn't getting bigger, it's limping down the road and it's best days are behind it. If you still care about facebook you're in your 60's.

An afterthought - The censorship around here probably also put the last nail in it's coffin. It used to be a free speech free for all back in the DFWstangs days, but then I guess some *minorities complained or something. But something I've noticed is that some of the most active places are free speech absolutist. So you've probably fallen behind times. Got old and drank too much soy, now you've got more estrogen than testosterone. I'm guessing most of you here are old, fat, and weak. You don't lift weights or do cardio. Amirite? And because of that, you're getting stupid. As old people so often do. You know it's true, remember that dead relative of yours... I've got a few I can think of. The hobby hasn't changed and Facebook hasn't killed forums, Youtube did. You used to share your builds, how to's, races, etc on forums. Now you do it on youtube, because watching is better than reading, and as the creator, you have a shot at getting paid.

As for this place, it wasn't censorship that killed it, it's the users and a generation of thin skinned people. DFWmustangs was never welcoming to new members, it was a ball busting haze of new members. If you stuck around, you found a tight knit group of friends and a fun community, but most got butthurt and left.
