  • DR Horton Homes ?

A buddy of mine is looking at a new build by DR Horton in Waco area. Anyone have any feedback on them ?

When I sold my home in Allen, I had to move into a rental in McKinney and it was a D.R. Horton home. It was nicely built and very energy efficient. It was smaller (2000sqft) but there were only three of us at the time. It was also a golf course community, so the ones that were on the golf course seemed nicer, but it was built OK.
Faux wood floors, cheaper tile in the bathrooms, basic kitchen appliances and built ins were lower grade, but as a starter home or an affordable home, they do a good job. If hes building new or buying new, I would have any items that need addressing before I would sign off on the final inspection.

They have a reputation for quickly thrown up with mistakes but I can’t give you any examples. What neighborhood? There’s a lot of shit popping up around town. The neighborhood behind me started out as big houses with decent sized lots and at the back of the subdivision it’s every other house is the same with tiny lots.
