  • Karmann Ghia

Have a friend with a karmann ghia for sale. Anyone know any good places to post. Car is in Farmers Branch, however she lives in Bryan, TX. This was her dad's car which he never got around to restoring.

Guys, I texted with Frank today on this. They may actually have a steel body Porsche for sale. I was looking for a Ghia, so I'm out, BUT this may be a very interesting deal for someone...Hit him up for details and go see the thing.

        I’m assuming a 914?

Classified ads, photos, shows, links, forums, and technical information for the Volkswagen automobile

Use to be THE place online for aircooled stuff.

Qualitat in Grand Praire is still a thing. If Doug is there he could probably tell you what to do.

That's my best guess but been out of aircooled game long time...

I had to look up why someone would be confused on what it was. Makes sense.

In the four-cylinder models the ignition lock was located on the right. The wheels of the 914 were mounted with four wheel nuts. The standard 914 model (914/4) was produced by body maker Karmann in Osnabrück.

The 914s bring a pretty penny if they are nice. Been down that rust bucket worm hole with a 914/6 and don't personally care to do so again.

When I was told it was a porsche speedster body. I fiquered it was just a body type of Ghia not an actual porsche. After looking up the porsche body it seem like it maybe a 356 speedster body.

If it is a 356 Speedster they're pretty much worth any amount of work you have to put into them.

Title? I only ask because they built a shit load of replicas of those cars. How much do they want? And how can a brother get pics?

If it's a good friend, have her get some one out there to look at it that knows what they are talking about. Some of those bastards bring good money. I guess it depends on the condition. That might be a bring a trailer deal, garage find.

And Dave the motor is from a Corvair. So pretty seems as the frame is the only thing Ghia. Unsure the condition of motor. Will sell the body and frame separate. Pretty much a large project. The body is the shell only and the frame is a rolling chassis with motor. She is starting process to sale the house where the car is. So it's a move fast sale.
