I found a 2011 Ranger in the junkyard, it's a 4-cylinder model that has rear disc brakes. That year model Ranger was also equipped with a stability control system. I would like to strip every piece of that off of the Ranger and put it on to an earlier Mazda that I own. Can anyone tell me if that system is a separate box or is it controlled by the ECU?

I can't say specifically for the 2011 Ranger, but typically stability control is a combination of Abs and ECM modules working together. I'd expect retrofitting it to an older model to be a massive amount of work and since all the modules in the truck communicate with each other, you'd have a hard time getting everything to work correctly. Any of the 2011 modules you used would have canbus errors for all the modules left behind.
