I bought an E60 M5 with the SMG trans from auction and once it showed up of course the trans is bad. Working with the auction house to arbitrate but will end up needing to get it fixed.

An smg transmission is basically an automatic with a whole stack of planetary gear sets like an old Lenco transmission. I would just pull the thing apart to see if anything inside is burned up. If it's not burned up then I would simply repair it. Be prepared for sticker shock on every single part you have to put in it. Something tells me there's not a kit and that everything has to be bought individually.

Yeah I am finding that most of the issue is with the SMG pump. We shall see. It is at BMW Plano and those cocksuckers wont even diag it even after they said they would and I had it dropped there. BMW Dallas said they will, get it over there tomorrow.

I'm just giving you shit as I had an E60 545i 6 spd and I LOVED that car until i ruined it. I'm jealous as I always wanted the M5 model of the E60.

It's just north of 820 on Hwy 377.
I've owned multiple platforms and they've done an excellent job on all.
My E60 M5 threw a rod and they had a replacement engine sourced and installed for less than $10K

It wont start now, gear indicator is N, shifter is now locked out preventing it from starting. When I first got it it ran strong.
