Any one here have/had one? What did you think about them. Will be looking to getting one here shortly. Some plans have changed could be changing more here in future. Will be either trading in the 19' stang or getting rid of it now and waiting to get into one. Specifically the V6 ecoboost with 4wd.

Wife just got a '21, but with the little 4 banger Ecoboost. It rides really nice, seats are comfortable, and gets good MPG. If you are seriously considering one, they are going fast, and not coming in from Ford to replenish dealer stock. I think they had 3 or 4 4WD at 5 Star in NRH this weekend when we bought hers.

Car lots are empty, compared to what they normally are. He said they usually have 5 rows of F-150's, now they are all in 1 row.

That's no joke, I drove past a chevy house that had like 20 trucks and nothing else on the lot. It's why I got top dollar for my camaro and why I jumped on the mustang.

All dealerships are hurting for inventory.

Yea, not planning on a new one. Love to get a ST, but not paying that price. I have found nice used ones, just haven't bit the bullet to do it..ha I know about the water pump change while back, and after little reading earlier this morning, I see that they moved to external water pump on the 2020+. So might be looking into those. I did find a nice 2020 platinum at a dealer couple days ago. Talked to cousin who works at ford dealer and he told me same thing about used car market, that they are going fast. So I might try to get in one while I can

Now this thread has me looking at the Explorer now.
Ford lineup looks like they want to keep up with the new bronco
The 2021 Explorer Timberline, which the company unveiled Wednesday, features an updated exterior design, increased ground clearance and other off-road features

I had an 16. Loved it. Good vehicle. had all the bells and whistles minus the airbags in the seatbelts. Decent fuel mileage. Enough room to throw kids and dog in to travel. When I traded it in last April, it didn't stay on the lot 2 days. They didn't even get to detail it before someone hopped on it.

                I'm considering replacing my 2013 Edge w/Eboost 4cyl that I purchased new in 2012. With 76000 miles, it's been a great vehicle.

I've really liked the Explorer series in the past but...
I just can't get over that fugly headlight treatment on the new generation Explorers.

I can't be the only one who sees this? Anybody with me?

The 2020 Explorer was a total redesign. They went from a FWD architecture (based on the Ford 500 and Taurus) to a new RWD platform. Now that they've gotten the bugs worked out it's a pretty good design. The only downside, IMO, is that is still has Sync 3 in it.

We had a '12 limited that overall was a good vehicle for us, so we were looking to replace it. I priced out the Sport & Platinum Explorers last year and in the end we ended up getting an '20 Aviator for not much more (and has a year longer factor warranty). Time will tell if it pans out to be as good as the Explorer was for us. I have heard both Explorers and Aviators had some build issues with the model change which have hopefully been worked out, but good to be aware of.

They also went from 3.5 to 3.0 on the 2020+

All this talk now has my mind set on the 2020. Will get back to looking and be pulling trigger then..haha Glad they went with external WP.

We have had a 2011, 2014, and now a 2017 explorer with zero issues out of any of them.
My Mother in Law has a 2019 eco that she's put around 25k miles on with no issues.

My wife has a 16 Limited. She fucking HATES the new ones. Both front and rear.

To anyone looking, her 16 has been fantastic. Hers is non EB so it’s a slow pig, but other than an annoying whistle coming from the cowl panel area that Ford wanted a fortune to fix and front passenger door speaker (blown twice) it’s been great.

Well, I pulled the trigger and got a new one. Was looking and looking and end up looking at ST's more. So was wanting a used ST, but man, used prices are close to new one. Figure couple more and just settle on new one.

Picked up a 2021 Rapid Red Explorer ST. Overall I love it. Like what others have said, some don't like the look. For me, I love the front, just don't really care for the back, but I don't really care that much. Loser will see more than me anyways...hahaha

Maybe will look to see if there are any aftermarket brake lights that have better look.

                              Will post some pics later.
