I feel this bill is a good compromise as its mainly for sports cars that can't have a front plate (like corvettes) and specifically singles out classics.

I have the GT350 front valence on my 66', so no place to put the plate. Would really like to see this pass.

Emailed my Texas Senator this morning.

He looked again, wrote me a ticket for improper lane change instead. I may have been a tad antagonistic. Not long after that I figured out that if I can make them laugh, I never get a ticket.

While I don't care *that* much, I went ahead and emailed as well asking them to support this bill as the 2nd plate is bullshit.

And I cannot believe Talisman was EVER even a tad antagonistic!

So what happens when they spot a person from out of state (such as myself) with no front plate because that state doesn't require one? Then they can't tell that they are from out of state until they swoop behind them. Do they call off the chase and circle back wasting all of that time and effort for something so stupid? I don't get the front plate thing. Many states don't require it. I would guess the majority. That being said, I believe since interstate travel occurs that the traffic laws should match every state so there's no stupid difference from one state to the next. K.I.S.S. makes sense here. Just goes to show its 100% pure revenue based, like most traffic laws.

I hope this passes, I've considered registering stuff in NM just to avoid the front plate and get 20% tint on the front windows, but there isn't a single good looking plate available in NM.

I'm pretty sure they don't pull me over because I dont have a front plate or tags. I assume they assume I'm from out of state.

He’s mentioned it many times and was a cop while a board member as well.

Pretty sure he said FTP when he bought the bar. I think that was him! I think he swings both ways now.

Fuck all of that. Plate or no plate, not somewhere in between. I am good with none, haven't stopped for that in years.

We usual just side eye as you go by figuring on a temp tag in back. What's funny, dumb, whatever, fucking temp tags don't have to be on both ends.

Out of state, no enforcement, only thing I have ever wrote for out of state is registration. If the shit is out in Montana, it is out here, especially when you live here and have for a while. I did have to look up Oklahoma Trailer laws about a year ago. I can't remember the details but she said she didn't need no plate on her horse trailer or something, I went back and looked it up, sure enough.

I remember in 2010 I had just moved to PA from Texas. I took a trip to DC for the 4th of July weekend and got pulled over by Virginia State Police for speeding. Well he also asked to see my registration card and I told him Texas doesn’t have one it’s on my windshield. He didn’t care for my answer and proceeded to give me a warning for speeding and a ticket for no registration. I was like Texas doesn’t provide a card again... He then proceeded to say I could write you for speeding too ( he never radar’d me, he paced me on the on-ramp.) I said whatever and took the ticket. 🙄
