Our "adopted" daughter is a cna, she received the second shot and had the fever, muscle aches and chills. Her employer tests all employees twice a week for the virus, she tested positive on the first test after the 2nd vaccine. Tested again three days later and it was negative. They still made her stay out of work and "quarantine" for 10 days....We had the virus in June/July. Stupid that they made her get the vaccine.

It sounds like you and all your family are doing well. I know that you posted that you had the worst of the symptoms.
I'm curious to know if you and and the rest of your immediate family are going to get vaccinated when you are eligible.

No. I will not get the vaccine and neither will by children or husband. I don't understand after having it why we would need it. The "science" doesn't support it. If you get chicken pox, you don't need the vaccine. Why this one?

I have scarring on my heart from the infection. Had the scans and it shows scarring on my left ventricle. It sucks. I still can't take a deep breathe without having pain. But I won't put it back in me voluntarily. I've started doing things to get healthier. I'll go that route. It's been almost 8 months since infection and I have not been following the guidelines for staying "safe". We followed them and we got it so in my opinion they don't work.

One more thought, I really think it has something to do with blood types on how bad the infection gets. My brother, his youngest daughter and mother in law are all O blood types. They were all in the same space as my sister in law when she and their entire church group got it. One other person who is an O blood type was in the group and she didn't get it either. My sister in law is B negative, just like me. She is going on month 2 from her infection and is still pretty miserable. That's just one more instance of people with O blood types that I know who didn't show any signs of infection and they should have.

This train of thought is pretty dangerous.

The safety guidelines reduce your risk to get/spread covid. They don't eliminate the chances.

I was one of the first ones in our area to start making masks before they were readily available. I shopped for my parents and grandmother who is 93. I did everything....EVERYTHING to keep safe. Masks, no friends, stayed away from parents...dropped their food off and my grandmothers. I made hand sanitizer when we couldn't get any. We literally did every single precaution to extreme. I lost family who were of the opinion the whole thing is a crock. We changed clothes in the garage, dropped them in washer, got in shower and yet We still got it. Those guidelines are bonk. They don't work. I still wear a mask at HEB. But I am not wearing one in a restaurant to immediately sit down and take it off. That makes no sense. I am not wearing one to go walk in the park with my 8 year old.

I was miserably sick. I have video of my cough when it was so bad. I laid on the bathroom floor because it was as far as I could go. I took dexamethasone twice for two weeks. I was on inhalers, developed tachycardia from the virus, had the glass like look on my lung x-rays. My oxygen dipped into the upper 80's. Then after we thought I was over the whole damn thing I started getting a for lack of a better word, rash on my face, neck and back. A side affect of the virus, looks like chicken pox when it flares up. They gave me three different creams for that as well as prescribed ivermectin to help with it. Guess what? I still have it. It's ridiculous.

And yet with all that and knowing how sick I was, I will not get the vaccine. It's a band aide. If I did all that and still got the virus, how the hell can a vaccine that they just develop even come close to working on something that hits everyone so differently. Dangerous thought processes or not, I had it and still won't get the vaccine. With all other viruses we develop a form of immunity because our bodies learn it and store that information....thus the ability to create antibodies. Our bodies create them again when that virus is exposed to us again. How is that different for this one? They don't know the reinfection rate. It bounces around just as much as the mask no mask crap. I just don't believe any of them knowing what does or doesn't work with this virus. I'll take my chances with my natural defenses that I am working on getting better.

It makes me sad to hear everything you have been through. I hope that you make a full recovery from the lingering affects.

My sister got it on my bday, started off as a bad headache and the next day the cough and flu-like symptoms started. She was very sick for over a week (bed ridden) and still has the annoying cough 14 days later. She did not wear a mask unless they places she went to required it, she rolled the dice for almost a year and finally got it. She is not going to get the vaccine and that was her stance before she got sick with covid. Not sure if she is going to after she recovers fully either.

Taking the precautions you did it should be easy to narrow down where you contracted it, do you know?
I have taken the same precautions from the beginning, working in a hospital I am around it daily. I have been exposed a couple of times, but with a mask, hand washing, keep my hands out of my face, I have yet to contract it. The few co-workers that have contracted it did so with a lapse in routine. One went to a buddies restaurant opening. One flew home for Christmas. One went to a baby shower. The others that have stuck with the routine have not had it.

Masks are fucking useless. You’ll touch something that had the virus on it and then touch your face, most notably an eye or nose rub. Done deal. Mask doesn’t stop that and in the future, I bet they write articles about how hilarious masks are in terms of preventing being infected... if you have it it helps spreading it but hey, you’re already fucking infected so tough shit. Masks don’t do a goddamned thing for the uninfected.

The best part is when all these fucking idiots go back into public, like fucking night walking ghosts who haven’t seen daylight in a year, and die from the common cold or flu or strep or pneumonia because they’ve been separated from typical viruses that the body casually fight off since March of 2020, they get smoked. That’ll be great.

I’ll keep licking doorknobs and shopping cart handles to boost my immunity. You fucks keep taking injectable Corona Light and talk about how you’re safe.

That’s why I use a mask, to possibly protect others as opposed to myself. A N95 mask might offer some personal protection, since they work pretty well in filtering out mold spores and by extension might filter out viruses carried on respirable water droplets. Nonetheless my employer requires a mask in dealings involving public contact, and I’ve got no problem with that.

fuck that shot and media peer pressure isn't gonna convince me to do so! "Hey Biden is getting the vaccine shot on camera so should you!"

If you think an n95 mask provides protection against a virus I've got a little test for you. Spray some pepper spray in the air, close your eyes tight, then walk to the mist while breathing. If the pepper spray burns you via inhalation then a virus can get to you.

Dude, I was in the regulated materials inspection and abatement profession for decades and know more about respiratory protection than your happy ass can hope to find by way of Google. Also learn to read, I posted nothing about a N95 mask being effective against a virus. I posted about effectiveness against viruses being carried on respirable water droplets, understand now?

The mist that is pepper spray is also a microscopic liquid droplet. If it can burn you then a virus can infect you. Hell, I'd even wager that the droplets from pepper spray are massively larger than the droplets carrying a virus and they should be easier to catch in the mask but somehow they still make it through.

Do you understand now asshole or do you simply not want to admit that I'm right about this?

Edit: Well Mr Abatement expert I have to apologize; I went back and reread your post and you clearly said that while wearing four n95 mask you're protected from water droplets carrying a virus. I do apologize.
