So does everyone believe Jose would have ponied up $15-20k for the site? I dont know Jose like that so I dont know if that is a drop in the bucket for him or not. Truely sounds like autoguide sent Chris an offer and this was something lingering in the back of his mind for some time and took it on a spur of the moment decision.

There is talk about trying to arrange a meeting with Jose but no idea if it was before, during or after. Im willing to bet it was after and Jose was already pissed about it though.

20 G's is not a huge sum to come up with when you have several backers, of which I assume Jose could have corralled fairly quickly.
Even my unemployed ass would have cowboyed up a few coins.

I've met Jose and bought stuff from him and sold stuff to him. I never even knew about Chris.

If there was any type of partnership at all though, this was definitely the wrong way to dissolve it.

Jose has been here from the beginning and I know this and respect him greatly. But what role did Chris have with DFW? Was Jose helping with the upkeep or was it just Chris? I merely ask these questions out of ignorance. I don't know the answer to the questions above. I bet if I go sign up over there and let's say "User1" started that site and I go and make a post that says "Fuck User1, he's a bitch and his mother sucks dick for Kool-aid money" that I would be banned within minutes. From what it appears, Jose was fucked over and that's not a good thing. The new company came in and made an announcement. People looked up the company and immediately started demanding and bashing. Chris also made a post today and the way this site was being ran and it was exactly as I had suspected. Chris was the man doing the leg work and Jose handled the PR. It always worked fine that way. Decisions had to be made and Chris jumped ship when he felt ready to do so. Both sides have a very valid argument. I can look at it objectively. I don't choose sides. I love this website and will continue to post here. If it fails I will end up on another site. This has happened before. I remember back in the day we all left and went over to TSP and hung there for a while and then we came back home. I sure hope this all blows over soon. All this drama is for the birds.

I agree Chris did a hell of a lot, and poured his own money into the maintenance etc, for quite some time, but he made hand over fist what it cost to do so. Advertising is $100 per month or 1k to pay in full for the year. HOW many advertisers are there? Jose brought the buyers/advertisers/members. There wouldn't have been the success the board achieved without him putting asses in the seats that allowed it to happen. The site wouldn't have sold for half of whatever it did if Jose hadn't done his part over the years. He may not have put money into it, because he wasn't asked to... but he's helped raise money for it and brought the people that hand over their cash to Chris faithfully. You can't put a price on what he did, but I god damn guarantee you it's not $0
