Well, i'm sure this site would have been made and we'd all be over here pissed off because a shitty company bought the old site.

I'd probably also be giving Chris some numbers of lawyers to call since the site was sold by someone who doesn't own the "title".

Agreed, I know I would have donated at least a grand to Jose if needed, and many others would as well.

LMAO! The funny thing is that Chris stood the chance in making more money by selling it to Jose in our behalf.

Exactly on both accounts. Jose could have had an IPO in essence with shares. We could have post whored and all made money after we sold out

I bet if Jose couldnt swing the cash, stangers would have come to the rescue.
For sure, it could have been $1500 in which case Jose buying it would have been more plausible.

As nice of a fairy tale as that is, it sounds like we barely mustered up enough cash to pay maintnance much less $20k within a short period to buy the site. I could be way off base and I hope I am but that is the way I look at it.

Agreed. Without knowing how much he got for it, there is no way to tell. But even by Chris's statement, Jose wasn't even given a chance to get a number or put some cash together. It's just a shitty situation all together. I can't really say that I'm all that surprised though, considering Chris never really took part in the social aspect of the board. The last time I saw Chris was at a GC2 cruise to the lake if that tells you how long it's been. lol.

                    • I feel calling it an over reaction just goes to show he did not respect the thoughts and feelings of those members who helped get the traffic he had that ultimately allowed him to sell the site.

                      • It's actually a little amusing to me to watch him try and do damage control when he has no personal relationship with any of the people who post there any more. It's just like sales. People buy from people, not companies.

The new owners were probably urging him to step up and say something.

Do the "New Owners" have a clue as to who we are yet? Fuel on the fire, fuel on the fire.

I wouldn't call it a fairy tale.......this place is a home away from home for most of us and if we were told what was going on, had the facts, and knew what the consiquences were of a sell to a canadian company, then quite a few of us would have put up whatever we could to save "our home". I'm surprised you don't feel the same way!!! If there was a short fall in money to keep it going and it was made public then we would kick in some bucks to keep it afloat. Similar to the shirts and donations that are going on at this new site. As many of us on here love and hate each other we are still a family and you tell me what family doesn't have disFUNction in it!

I recondition headlights on most cars for $50.00. If interested shoot me a pm.

Don't get too self congratulatory; most of us still think you're an idiot. And quit sending Grove Rat PMs about my wife you stalking fuck.
