  • Life is good. Put in my notice at work.

This plan has been in the works for a while. It has been hard to keep it a secret from friends, and such.

I gave my boss my notice that the 17th of march will be my last day. The house is on the market and we are moving to my family farm to take over operations.

No morgage as the house is paid for. It needs alot of work as besides eletric and plumbing it has not been updated since 1960. It was my grandmothers house.

This is a big step for my future and hopefully my wife and i. It will be an adjustment for her.

We run a operation of 1200 farm acres and a few sections of pasture for 70-100 head of cattle.

I cant fucking wait. Its a hunters dream. Our land borders a wildlife reserve. The lake is 9 miles from my driveway. I have my own 5.5 acre 35-50 foot deep gravel pit.

The down fall is that its in the middle of nowhere. Closest wal-mart 60 miles any direction. There are alot of small communities around but nothing over 5k until you hit the 60 mile mark.

We might not be the richest people out there, but we will be happy. My wife is a biochemist, and It will be hard for her to find work in her field, but its still 20-30 years down the road a better investment in our lives.

Hope your wife is able to make the adjustment. That is going to be a pretty major lifestyle change for her to accept. Best of luck.

We live in a small town now. Under 9k, but there is more for her as far as employment here with most of the jobs here are factory work.

Heck the place that cloned the sheep is just a few miles down the road from where we live now.

I Hope for our sake that she can adjust. There is plenty she can do. Its up to her to make it.

Its not a place where you work for someone else. Its basically a place with alot of people doing their own thing with a few employee's.

I know im going to use her for checking soil samples and such. She could start a business doing that. Seasonal work, but still something she enjoys.

I'm hoping we can get her on with the state somehow. The reality is she does not have to work if she does not want to. Would it benefit us if she did heck yes.

She's gonna get cabin fever before you know it. I lived in Shreveport a couple of years which drove me nuts, but it's like NY compared to what you described. And good luck with that it's up to her to adjust idea. Don't be surprised if she decides to get lost in the woods and never comes back. Good luck to you either way. I'm just a city guy speaking on my own views.

I know all about cabin fever. I Lived in greenville most of my life, and moved there for a brief period when i met my wife.

It takes some adjusting, but not really much compared to the place we are now.

The big change will be her choice in work. If she decides to work.

Your "down-fall" is the true biggest PLUS.
Fuck wal-mart. I'd be ecstatic to live 60 miles from one.
Just plan ahead, and shop less often.

The first thing im doing when i get there is set up the 600 yard rifle range.

As a kid growing up there i had alot of toys.

We have a dirt circle track in a field with banked corners for our go carts.

My brother had a motox track on the north 40.

Hell right now my father has a track for our r/c cars. We use the spray truck to water it down before we race lmao. Its something we like todo when taking a break from working in the shop.

He also built a little 500hp street car after i let him drive my h/c/i sprayed mustang.

You go through jobs more than Whiteboy goes through Mustangs.
