Rat snake or cottonmouth?

To me it looks like a plain bellied water snake. Should have vertical bars in the lower jaw. Cottonmouths look really fat, have a skinny tail, and have the bandit mask over their eyes.

I do find it funny that 20 years later, anytime anyone anywhere asks within ear shot of me abut a snake, I always immediately go with "Texas Rat Snake!"
