Update on this. I was in Missouri over the weekend with my oldest playing, when I saw a coach from a local program. I saw one of his 11u teams when I was in Conway/Little Rock with my youngest. Told him I met some of the parents, they were a great team, etc. He told me one of the kids on that team (had recently turned 12) was shot in the hotel. My face went white as did the other coaches I was standing with who knew about our deal. Turns out the kid shot (bullet when through shoulder) was a kid from down our way. Craziness. Kid is fine and actually went to their games that day. Still though...
