  • Best dealer to shop F150s?

Looking for a new F150 with a few specific options. At which dealer(s) should I start looking?

I had a decent experience at Bob Tomes Ford 20 mos ago and a similar one at Five Star Ford Plano/Dallas in '17 (they have changed a little since they have 25 salesmen in the Mega stealership now).
I will say this, to avoid the dog and pony dance that they all do, have your financing already done, don't go in there without it or you could be there all day and maybe another. They will try and sell you all kinds of add on on the back end (finance) just say no to everything.
If you feel you need an extended warranty, just wait til your factory one expirers and Ford will send you the same thing and you can pay cash for it instead of financing it.
I use Ford Motor Credit, so I go their website and find the car I want. I fill out their online App and have an answer in a few minuets. They give you a PIN for your selected Dealer and you go in there, test drive it and straight to finance.
If you do it like that or go in with your own check from your bank, it is way easier than spending all day with them taking your keys on your trade-in, going and talking to their manager and that unnecessary bullshit.

Even then you have to wait, they only have so many finance guys, so that is the majority of the wait.

I used Bob Tomes last year. I bought new but they had some demos at the time with like 3500 miles on them with pretty big discounts. I don't know if that is a regular thing for them or if I just happened to be there when they getting rid of some.

This exactly. I had all my numbers worked out but still went through their financing dog and pony show because i didn't go this far in preparation.

The sales guy knew the back and forth was pointless because my mind was made up and I was putting down a big enough down-payment to not care about the monthly payment. He was so low energy and careless about the process but had to make his manager happy. Luckily i was the only one there so it was fast.

I will say Bob Tomes did actually match the online price.

They usually have a few vehicles like that for different reasons, the upper mgnt guys get a vehicle to drive as part of their package, so they will have some cars with a few thousand miles or buy backs and others are cars that get test driven alot and have been there for awhile. The discounts on them are usually nice and well equipped, don't expect to get a Raptor, GT350, Bullet or the like, but if your looking for a new with a few thousand miles you can get a nice discount.

Truf, you have to educate yourself and be prepared for what you want, they prey on the person that goes in there to see a car they want and keep you there for hours trying to fuck you any way they can on the price. They want the person that goes in there and just wants to buy a car.

Know the exact car you want (you may have to travel to that dealer).
Make sure the discounts apply to you and rebates that are available for that car.
Read the fine print on their website for the car and financing.
You get one or the other, not both if you use FoMoCo Credit.

Some shady stealerships, just post all the discounts and rebates on a car and when you get there you think you're getting a smoking deal and you find out you ain't in the Lions Club and you get butthurt...
