Ok so we have a little debate going on in the office today about a tint ticket.

Here in Utah the legal limit is 43% but in Texas it is 25%

Now my truck is still registered in Texas, Still have a TX DL thats Valid.

Can they legally ticket me for my tint if i am not registered in Utah?

Another Scenario, Say you were driving across the country, your vehicle passes that states inspection, Can an officer legally give you a ticket for not passing its states safety inspection?

How long do they allow you to live there before you are required to change all of that over?

EDIT: I'm not an officer. That's simply my best guess. I would assume I would get a warning up to that time.

90 Days if your moving here permanently, 6 months if your just moving here for the winter months.

A guy here at work got a tint ticket yesterday and I know mine are alot darker than his, so i was just wondering if they are going to fool with me, and be able to legally give me the ticket beings I am still registered in texas.

This. You could be working on a whole other ticket for not registering your truck in time, Bob-o.

They can give you a ticket for anything. Whether it holds up in court is another story.

If you're driving on a public road in the State of Utah, you are supposed to adhere to the state's traffic code. Any ticket you receive will be because of a violation of Utah's laws, not Texas laws.

I have been pulled over 8 times in the last 4 and a half years and have only had one ticket. I was caught doing 100 in a 65 so I was in the wrong. I think you need to stop blaming the popo and learn how to stop looking so conspicuous.

Just tell them you are a cop and that you can magically see through the darkest tinted windows. I figure that has to be the case since this is a safety issue we are talking about.

as a otr driver my truck has to be legal in the state I'm in. Thats why you will see very few big tucks with tint, to much of a pain, and no reason to have johnny law look at you twice.
