I appreciate the info. I know this sounds like a horrible idea but it was wanted by the the kid buying the truck. He's had some hard times but wants to do this the right way. He's a good kid trying to get things back on track but isn't going to ask for a handout."You wouldn't know what crazy was if Charles Manson was eating Fruit Loops on your front porch"

Trust is the biggest factor in this type of arrangement. I've been on both sides of this type of arrangement...and it can go either way. I wouldn't own my Grand National if I hadn't kept my end of the agreement. I've sold a few motorcycles and cars based on the same trust with friends and family. Its a crapshoot.

It's good that it's low risk, but it sounds to me like he would be doing a disservice in just giving the kid the truck. Sounds like he needs the life lesson and sense of self-worth as much if not more than he needs the truck.

But yes, I agree with most of you, the chance for this to turn into a shitstorm are pretty good. But It'll be far away from me so whatever."You wouldn't know what crazy was if Charles Manson was eating Fruit Loops on your front porch"
