Not one case that goes to county makes my police department a dime. We lose money on every case filed. Not to mention the amount we receive for citations is not near the wind fall you think. We also have zero profit from locking someone up, and it costs us money to instanter someone in a jail or put them in for warrants.

I was trying to help explain the process and there is always one guy that wants to go all government conspiracy theory. We get our money from taxes, voted on by the city council, elected by the people. My city could give two shits if we are out writing citations. They like community oriented and we oblige. Like I said, we have more time to investigate this stuff. Bigger cities have to prioritize their time a little more.

I get it, but this is also exactly why we need less government. Your post is all about profit and cash flow. You don’t give two shits about crime or what is right. Your dept only cares about fleecing your taxpayers. You should be unemployed. Learn to support yourself and keep your hands out of my wallet. Now if you want to go after criminals like this guy and do what is morally right, maybe then I have a job for you. You do about as much for me and my family as the bums on the corner begging. When bad things happen to me, my family or my friends, you are totally worthless. You’re r just there to mark off the scene and take notes. You aren’t actually going to pursue justice because there isn’t any profit in it.

Thanks for explaining you don’t have the time or money to do the job you are morally supposed to do. You claim to be a protector of justice and the people but you are really just looking out for yourself like everyone else. You have no right to my money for that as I have no rights to yours. Maybe more police are need, dunno. Kingjason could probably answer that. In regards to the guys he mentioned that were juggling 130 at a time. What would have lightened their workload? I'm guessing more people working there.

Cause you don't get both. You don't get to have less than adequate manpower and then be sure that anything and everything will get done, and in a timely manner. Everyone is all for increasing the police presence in all these shitty cities. Well that means more cops. Probably lots more.

Yeah he is barking up the wrong tree. 16 years now, 19 commendations, life saving awards, a few certificates of merit, and a medal of valor. I have shut down two large burglary rings, caught a bank robber, caught the crew that hit RO with 31 BMVS, multiple burglars. All on view crimes. I like to call it good luck and persistence. Did I mention not one IA or accusation of excessive force. In my department right now I got thrown into CID. I was 11-11 on catching criminals for the first six months. Yesterday I dealt with the DA's office 3 times, figured out my employees issues for the day, did the captains job as he is out of town, took some lobby calls, did 12 interviews, and worked on a CC abuse along with putting out a few other small fires. I usually eat at my desk while I am working.

One day, the way this country shits on cops, you will get your wish. You have no idea how people would act with no LE around. A lot of people act right just because they know there is consequences.

I'd agree, and I think we need a lot less government but that doesn't extend to police. Then again maybe just more support staff for the police. Don't know, hoping you'd be able to answer that one. Only thing I'd change about the police, is getting the good ones to rat out the bad ones. I'd wager you know what I'm talking about. The good ones, covering up for the fuck ups. No room for a fuck up in that line of work, no room at all.
