If you don’t want to drink for whatever reason and don’t want to be hassled by the waitstaff, they bug you less if they see a bottle in your hand.

Yep and at $6 a pop it got real expensive. I'd nurse one for a couple of hours. Now though most places have $1.75 beers during the week so it's no big deal.
