I ended up with 50+ bites on both ankles/feet area and it is still pretty damn miserable after almost five days. Feels like I would imagine herpes and ghonorea to the feet with a side of AIDS would be like. Chiggers are even more worthless than mosquitoes as far as I'm concerned...

Chiggers and ticks are both really bad this year.

Sawyer’s makes a spray you can spray on your clothes, let dry, and it lasts for 6 weeks/6 washes. To be used in conjunction with a skin spray. Works very well.


As kids we used to rub down with sulfur before we went outside. I did this recently and It didn’t have the same potency I remember it having.

I got eaten up working the back yard a month or two ago.. It was only the second time I had been bitten, and it's definitely not fun! First time on my arms and face (and legs, of course)! Mine itch like a motherfucker for a solid week, and take a good 2 weeks to heal.

I have had luck with permethrin (Sawyer brand that Bcoop mentioned), but only use it for away trips and am very careful with it since it can harm cats (when wet) and we have a couple.
