  • Early Foxbodies

This came up for sale near me and its just ugly enough to be interesting. Going to check it out this weekend and was wondering if I need to watch out for anything on the early cars? Not too worried about the motor but dont want to overlook anything on the body.

Floor pans, torque boxes, cowl area, shock towers/K member attachment point to the frame, and where the door hinges bolt to the body for rust. It's not a T-Top or Sunroof car so might not have a bad floor pan.

Also have to look for peeling door panels, happens to a lot of them.

I'm surprised nobody has said anything about that AMC Concord behind the Mustang.

check the seat mounting area, they are thin and crack around the rear. Under the back seat for rust (they ran the rear brake line in the floor and back out for some reason, right where water accumulates from leaking weatherstrips.
