  • atv in broken bow?

Does anyone know of a place to ride side by sides in broken bow? Me and the wife are looking to get away for a weekend and would like to take our ranger up to ride around. Ive been getting mixed info from my google search.

Lake Murray has some ATV trails.

There's also the K trail (kiamichi trail) just north of Broken bow. I haven't been to that one yet so let me know if you go and how a full size truck may do (4x4, locker and aggressive all terrains...no lift)

There are trails around Broken bow but I dont believe they're as "official" as proper trails like tex river or lake Murray.

Some guys from work go to a place around Mena and ride. There’s even cabins on the place. It looks awesome, but I haven’t been able to go with them yet. If interested I can get the info on it.

Wolfpen Gap. Billy has organized lots of groups to ride out there.

Yep. My aunt and uncle-in-law own one of the cabins out here in Mena, I’ve heard it’s gorgeous country and I look forward to visiting their place soon.

I grew up on murray, decent trails there. We are planning to go to broken bow with some friends, rent a boat for the day and what not, figured we would take the ranger with us and ride a few trails. last time we went, we drove my truck through some trails, but they were marked as not allowing any sort of off highway vehicle. I read about the Kiamichi trails, but couldnt find much info. Ive heard great things about wolfbend!!

I did some more digging and found a few maps of trails that show which ones are year round for ohv, but I cannot find an answer of if I need a permit or anything being I am from out of state. Does anyone know?

I went a few years ago with a friend that took a Polaris Ranger, I left my dirt bike at home and didn't regret it.
I did a little research before going and came to the conclusion that there used to be lots of trails open to ATVs but that most had been closed. We stopped by the National Park Headquarters and got some information. There was one area that allowed riding but it was just logging roads, fire roads, etc. There were actually more areas open to "street legal" vehicles but we couldn't ride on them.

Try looking at the Ouachita National Forest website or calling their Hochatown Oklahoma office.
I don't remember needing any permit.
