TV Jumped the Shark....

I've noticed the past several months to a year that time in front of the idiot box has decreased immensely.

There was a time that if I was home, I would be watching something and a DVR would be recording away on something else.

The DVR never made it from my apartment before I got married, cable went shortly after....

Honestly, besides a few shows\movies that I actually "make time" for, most of my free time consists of:

Messing with guns
Messing with one of the cars
Fixing\modifying stuff in the house
A bit of camping\outdoors
Reading
Hanging out in the backyard with the chickens and some bourbon

Anyone else out there distancing themselves from the TV in general?

My TV consumption has been on a downward trend since middle school.

I might watch 1 show every 2 weeks.

I'd rather play with something physical or work on making more money.

Also I dont care for every thing being politicized.

I don't have cable or TV, and rely heavily on streams. Thit way I can watch what I want when I want, but hey are almost always on for back ground noise while I do something else. There are very few things I can watch that will keep my attention all by itself.

I effectively don't watch "TV" anymore, and haven't for years. We have various kids shows on for Christopher, and will rent a movie occasionally, but I'm busy doing stuff around the house or simply resting my brain when I'm at home.

I couldn't tell you to save my life what any of the "prime time" shows are.

Not really enough time in the day to watch TV. We occasionally watch some of the Food Network or HGTV shows off of Sling and 2 or 3 of the network shows from the DVR. Every once in a great while will download a movie from Amazon or iTunes.
