Dammit man, good to have you back!
We're all getting (or are already) in the danger zone. I've made some changes recently that seem to be helping. Had my BP checked back in January and it was 151/101. That was a wake-up call. I've had hyperlipidity (chronically high triglycerides) for a long time, and have pulmonary issues, but the high BP is fairly new. Cardio-wise, I'm fine. Doc said it is probably 30% diet, and 70% stress. So, less sodium, and a couple of drinks a night ( I outright refused pills, long story). Check last week was 133/90. Still high, but getting better."It is in truth not for glory, nor riches, nor honours that we are fighting, but for freedom - for that alone, which no honest man gives up but with life itself."

I'll stick to something proven and get my INR monitored monthly to determine if dosage needs adjusting.

It really set in when I had a kid if that helps. I just couldn't recover and workout at a high intensity when I drank...so I wasn't about to let that get in the way of time with my son or diminished health.

I had two glasses of wine after dinner last Friday and then I poured me a gentlemen's glass of Knob Creek with some ice and splash of water. I will also add that I feel way better and joint pain has gone way down.
But like Henry mentioned. When you do go back at it...get ready for a much worse hangover than you remember.
Lastly...I reward accomplishments with scotch. So when I hit a goal or milestone and finally get That glass of scotch...its that much sweeter.

I have also started working out more, which is good. Now I just need to schedule a complete physical like my wife keeps hinting at.I don't like Republicans, but I really FUCKING hate Democrats.
Sex with an Asian woman is great, but 30 minutes later you're horny again.

Glad your still here. Heart attack is my number 1 fear in life. The fact you knew is insane. I can't imagine being alert enough to say goodbye. Probably a good thing you don't remember.
2nd chance. Enjoy everyday forward to the fullest.
I've been, or was on bp meds and cholesterol meds for about 7 years. But when I turned 40 19 months ago I hit the gym and tried diets. I've gone from 220, 36+ waist and on all those meds to 173, 32 or less and off all my meds.
Currently on a full blown keto diet. Energy level is through the roof. Eat nearly 3,000 calories a day. I'll know in a few months how my cholesterol is with this diet though. If LDL is high again, I'll get back on pill and carbs My trt obviously helps. But between 4-5 days of gym a week, keto diet, no formal form of cardio, and I feel AMAZING. And I don't drink, anymore. Last r&r I had 1-2 glasses of wine at dinner a night but no beer on our cruise. When home I never had any booze in the house and no desire.
I'm doing everything in my power to be around for a very long time.
