Where's the snow ??

Was kinda planning a ski trip and the wife wanted to snowmobile some more and I don't see any thing worth driving for in New Mexico or southern CO.

You all know of something driving close ( 1 day ) with snow or is this just a bad year?

It's been an extremely dry winter so far here in CO, like worst in 50+ years for a lot of areas. That said, most of the ski resorts have gotten plenty of snow in the past couple of weeks. Crested Butte would be my first choice for skiing and snowmobiling.

I have been to the Crested Butte before, it's pretty nice.I just was not looking towards the drive from Dallas. Gotta do what you gotta do.

If you're looking for Southern CO, Wolf Creek got some decent snow recently. It's not a whole lot closer than CB, but I don't know where in CO would be any closer to TX for skiiing. Not sure how the conditions are in NM.

I'm at Wolf Creek presently and I've definitely seen better snow here....but that said...it is the presently the best you can find in southern Colorado. There is a small chance of snow on Monday but I'm not holding my breath. They have had 92 inches so far at the ski area and it is 100% open and not too crowded.

Conditions in NM are terrible...as in like there is NO snow. Santa Fe, Angel Fire, Red River and Taos are the only ski areas that have gotten any snow...and they are mostly making snow to get the ski areas to about 20% open. It is the worst winter they've had in like 20 years.

A friend of mine is in Breckenridge right now and they have plenty of snows.

My son and his girl are at Loveland Ski Resort and they have plenty of snow there.
