They have to shoot violent, scumbag criminals in the line of duty pretty frequently, and are rightfully exonerated in those cases.

There are also EXTREMELY rare cases where there is a bad shoot. They are almost always convicted for those.

Despite your personal misgivings about the man Matt is a very competent and honest police officer and standouts amongst his peers. We need more like him. The part you did not like about him is that he is a big redneck who would tell you to fuck off without a seconds thought and you could not separate that part of his personality from the LE part.

Let me start by saying that I am not a cop hater, all of my interactions with the police have been good. On top of that, when you deal with assholes for a living, even the best of people are going to have a shitty day.


That said, there are some seriously bad cops out there, and the law needs to make a fucking example out of a few of them. If not criminally, they need to have some skin in the game on the civil front, go after their livelihood. The lawsuits payouts from tax payer money isn't exactly a motivator to be a better officer.

Some of this stuff is unacceptable. The Tennessee asset forfeiture, the hotel shooting, the australian girl shooting, the Salt Lake nurse incident, etc all needed to be addressed harshly, but it didn't happen. At least the hotel shooting cop was charged, but the jury got that one wrong.

Then you get shit like this that just makes my blood boil. These videos are some of the worst incidents, but there are hundreds more videos like these. One can argue that these guys are poking the bear, but what they're doing is 100% legal.
