  • 2000 grand Cherokee 4.7 heads

I was just given a 2000 grand Cherokee with the 4.7 that was badly overheated. I’m looking for some heads for it. Anybody here run a salvage yard?

Those turds drop valve seats when they overheat.

OP: when you decide to replace the entire engine make sure you check the teeth on the crankshaft tone wheel. Even though it's been nearly 20 years since the first 4.7 yards still inventory these wrong and you can't mix the 16 and 32 tooth engines because the cranks are different.

That and Dallas Cylinder heads is probably your best bet.

Yea hopefully the valve seats are still all in place. If the engine is shot I’m just going to sell it as is.

Negative unfortunately. I can buy a set of fully dressed remain heads for around $500 though. Seems like a decent deal.
