  • DPD question.

So my assistant was late today and said he was rear ended. He stated the party that hit him demanded waiting for a cop for a police report. I no longer thought they dispached officers on non injury accidents when vehicles have minor damage. Is this true or am I wrong? The ironic thing is we work at a body shop and there was zero fresh damage on the rear cover. I am pretty sure he was lying, since he dissapeared for 3 hours today. Thanks in advance!

Depends. A lot of times it depends on call volume. If they're backed up, they'll offer to send someone in 3 hours. But generally they try not to, esp if someone's not injured.

I thought so, it was about 8 so I figure volume high. Is there a site I can look it up on?

Ask him to provide a copy of the police report. (could take several days to be available) If there were no injuries he would at least be provided a blue form to fill out.

Scott I cant speak for DPD, but the police CRB crash report (BradM good show!) would be good idea to ask... If there is any doubt, ask him to bring you a copy to explain his absence.

Does the guy have a real bad attendance problem to cause such suspicion?

I've had an LEO come out when I was involved in a minor fender bender. Doesn't sound far fetched at all.

On most minors DPD will tell you to get your shit off the road and exchange information or the Officers will be right out to right you a ticket for impeding traffic. This is with no injuries and minor stuff. A major with injuries is about all we will even work anymore. I will put in my comments of the call card who hit who as a courtesy to the person not at fault but generally they just exchange info.

I think we're still dodging the underlying issue here:
Why can't your assistant be trusted? If you have this type of issue with him where you need to double check his stories, it seems like you need a new assistant you can rely and trust on.

You don't start a business relationship with the suspicious nature your showing, he must be fucking up somewhere and needs to go.

Does he at least have the other person's insurance information. Sounds like you wanna get rid of em anyway so let it be done.
