Water/plasma don't bend turndowns.... And yes, I realize there is more than one way to skin a cat. But that would be a lot of time cutting/putting in a jig/welding/grinding/polishing.

Yeah, Brent, I already have the metal shop part of it covered. We used a shop in Plano when I worked for the last company. I'll just continue to use them more than likely, depending on where I do the fab work. I also have a shop in Sherman I can use.

I also have a slip-roll and pan-and-box brake at my dad's shop that I can use for smaller stuff. Along with shrinkers and stretchers.

I know it's going to be a lot of work, and that's the part that I look forward to. I like doing stuff with my hands and getting dirty if I have to. I don't expect all of this to happen overnight. I jut figured I could bounce some ideas off of some of you guys and get some feedback. Thanks !

I'm not trying to be critical, just trying to cover things you may not have thought about. For what it's worth, fab shops are folding left and right. I'd think you could find some of the machinery you need on the cheap. Not that any of it is real cheap, but people are liquidating like it's going out of style. I know you like doing things with your hands, but you still want to be efficient or you won't turn a profit, ya know?

By all means, throw out any ideas/suggestions you may have.

We don't have a shear, so I would have to either find a steal of a deal on one, or just use someone to cut up what I need for now.

When I worked for the previous company, the metal shop we were using was charging us $1 per cut, but that's when we were doing a lot of business and times were slow for them, so they were in the mood to bargain on their labor.

Depending on how busy I can get with this stuff, that could help me with the bargaining on the price per cut. Plus the fact that the guy liked me because I knew how to run the equipment, and would bullshit with him when we went in to drop off/pick up stuff.

          Thanks for the suggestions, Brent.

I found a few shears on Craigslist that looked like they would be something worth having, but the cheapest was in the $1000 range and that was for a foot shear that would cut up to 16ga mild steel. It didn't say anything about stainless. The hydraulic shears I found are over double that.

Oh yeah, PM's and e-mails sent back to all of the guys that sent them to me.

I'm going to meet up with my buddy with the plasma machine one day this next week to see if I can get some "test" pieces cut up and build a prototype to see what kind of reaction I get.

Thanks Aaron. I am going to try and get that metal mesh I was emailing you about for my grill this week. If needed, I can get it to you (or a small sample of it) to let you see what I would be working with.

Perf stainless tray to grill veggies, shrimp, and other small things that would normally fall through the grate? I've got one, that is 14" x 14", with a 1/2" turn up all the way around. It's pretty kickass.

This is what I am looking to get, or something very similar.

Sure man, just let me know. Are you wanting it powdercoated or painted ? Are you wanting it like the picture you sent me, where the grill is black and the emblem white, or are you wanting to take care of all of that ?

                      ^ That's what I was talking about.
I think this type might look good too.

Probably going to go with all black. I like the white emblem idea to match my truck, but my truck is an off white and I would want it to match that. I may photoshop the 2 ideas and decide from there.

I think it might be too many circles up front.
