I agree, great in the rain. My g/f had some cheap tires on her 2K V6 and I thought the car was constantly going to fly into a ditch when it was raining! Not a good feeling.

That seems super low. I had almost 60k on my BFG A/T KO2s and they had an easy 20k miles left when I sold it.

I run Toyo Open Country M/Ts on my big truck and A/T 2s on the wife's 4Runner. Both have been great. We beat the crap out of them.

I've run Nitto Trail Grapplers before on my truck, and Terra Grapplers on the 4Runner. They performed well, but didn't last long at all. I believe they are actually the same company as Toyo, but the Nittos must be made with a much softer compound.

For sporty tires, I've had good luck with Nitto.

                This is correct.

Nothing but Firestone on my pick ups. No issues at all.

On trucks/SUVs I've always gone with BFG all-terrains. For my cars I've always ponied up for Michelin. Never had a problem with either of those brands. Kumho, Pirelli, etc., have always left me unhappy in one regard or another.
