Uber/Lyft Driver

I know you are all DFW ballers in here but I'm thinking of doing this as a side gig during the slow times at work.

Anyone ever drove for Uber or Lyft? Is it worth it?

Had that thought before. Watched a few videos on Youtube of people vomiting, car damage, read reports of stolen items, etc. Made me rethink that decision to NO.

So guess it all depends on how well you like your car?

After insurance, taxes, depreciation, car maintenance and wear/tear on your car. It makes no sense.

My thought is buy a nice used cash car like a Accord or Camry and run it just for that. Pack heat and you're set to go.

I have a couple coworkers that do it on their way home and after hours. My neighbor started doing Uber, grew it to 2 cars, and then launched it in to his own transportation company. His clientele consists of City of Irving employees like the City Manager, and the rest is made up of strippers so he does several hauls from the titty bars to Uptown when the clubs start closing. He's been driving for the same people for several years at this point.
