I know we've got one member on here living there, and I've already received her input. Anyone else living in that area? Pros/cons, likes/dislikes? Depending on what ends up happening with the house, I think I'm going to rent an apartment for a year in dt, and see if I like it enough to buy another condo in the same area.

I have a buddy who lives in Montgomery Plaza, basically. He loves it and can walk to anywhere from Chimy's to Gloria's, to Target. Sundance Square is just a few minutes walk or a cab ride away. That area is really picking up quick with the additions of the Pour House and Chuy's. Try it for a year. I don't know you, but you seem to be in a different state of mind than usual. Maybe it'll do you some good.

Living in a downtown is fucking awesome. I lived in downtown Houston for 3 great years. You are close to everything, the nightlife is great. You will see all kinds of shit. The sirens and loudness will wear off eventually, you will get used to it. The only bad thing is you are constantly surrounded by people, even when you dont want to be. People that come to downtown not during work hours usually dont come a lot and dont know how to drive in downtown. That gets annoying. I can best describe living in an apartment loft as living in a college dorm. You will meet some great people of all ages and backgrounds, but everybody knows everything about everybody else. Your concierge will know all. haha. Close quarters living does have its downsides.

If downtown FW is the same as downtown Dallas, there is no way in hell I'd live there.
1. I do "alright" myself, but to hell with those rent costs for a dinky little place.
2. Many times I've heard loud ass music through out the night. Not just on the weekends either.
3. The bums
4. The bums
5. The bums
6. It's city noise non-stop (traffic, sirens, yelling, gun shots, rape noises and so on)
7. The bums
I'm of the opinion that getting a hotel or something in downtown anywhere for awhile is one thing, but living downtown full time is another. Especially since I'm guessing the rent will be pricey so that's all money that has been whizzed away.Originally posted by MR EDDU defend him who use's racial slurs like hes drinking water.

Yeah the bums do suck, but you learn how to deal with that. You just ignore them. They cant figure out that they just asked you 2 hours ago for money and you said no then. Some of them, the less intrusive ones you get to know and they aren't that bad. I used to give packs of cigarettes and food to the ones that appreciate it.
