  • Has anybody used partsgeek.com?

I'm looking for a part that is on national back order through the dealer. All the normal aftermarket channels are out of stock. Wrecking yards are coming up short also.

I found a listing on parts geek for the part for about half the aftermarket price. They only show 2 in stock. I am just trying to see if anyone had experience, good or bad, with them before trying to buy from them.

    Thanks in advance!

Once and no issue, but I mainly buy from Rockauto, fast shipping, good return policy.

Rock Auto doesn't have the part, OEM or aftermarket.

Local chevy house has 14 on back order. Two others have them in stock but they are assigned to tickets and they won't budge even when offering some extra cash. I probably talked to 20 different dealerships around the country and got the same story everywhere. Most of them finished the part number before I got it all out. One of the dealers said they have 35 on back order. And GM is saying 4-8 weeks before the next batch is shipped.

Sounds like the decision is made for you. Order the part from PartsGeek and be our guinea pig.

I have a few times, never had a problem. Check Ebay, a lot of stores have inventory there and it's usually easier anyway.

I checked a few other review sites and took the gamble. I figured that if anything shady happened AMEX would probably help me out, they've been pretty awesome in the past.

Ebay had one being sold by a dealer with a buy it now price of $950 and starting bid of $500. MSRP is close to $300 and many sites advertise it at $200.

            BTW, it's the AC condenser for a 15-17 sierra/silverado/escalade/etc...

I have used them before but was very hesitant to do so since the price of what I was buying was 20% of what it should have been. The parts arrived with no issues.

My advice is to just get a universal condenser and make it work if you can not find the OE fit one. I have used the universal ones on several cars and they frequently give better performance then the original.

Parts geek is a drop seller from what I can gather. Good luck.

I've used them a few times, both for personal stuff, and for customers. Never had an issue with them.
