True. But in fairness, these are kids that have minimal experience. They are always going to look like village idiots when compared to someone with 30 years of experience.

Either way, welcome to the cordless club!!
I didn't even know the nVidia Shield could stream. Does it support Playstation Vue? That's my biggest ask of any device.

Best Buy doesn't seem to be a company with a bright future. Every time I step foot in a Best Buy (to get an in store pick up) they are always dead. Which would suck because they always have great discounts.

Somewhat related to best buy, has anyone been in a Fryes lately? Wow lots of empty shelves and not nearly the customer volume I remember when I worked there for a summer job 15~ years ago. The once commission sales who use to be on top of customers trying to be helpful all seemed to just hang around in one spot conversing not doing much.

I don't see them lasting much longer either, which will suck because getting that random electronic bit same day will become really hard.

I can understand why you might say that, but your experience is anecdotal. Some stores will always underperform. Of course the could have just been in a lull when YOU where there.

That said, Best Buy has been beating their earnings estimates for every quarter since early 2013. They are the only major brick and mortar retailer that made a killing last Christmas. One of their major competitors, HHGregg is going out of business and they'll probably pick up a load of customers from that.

Before Hubert Joly became CEO, BB was a certainly a dead man walking. He renewed their focus, greatly improved service, and started competing with Amazon on price. It has been pretty successful.

I've always enjoyed Fry's. It's like being in a toy store specially built for the geeks of the world. Unfortunately they aren't here in Colorado.

Hastings, formerly known as Sam Goody ( I think)

Circuit City, morphed into Tiger Direct

Kmart, descended into relatively filthy, understocked stores offering mainly junk.

Last time I went to Fry's I walked out of the store while purchasing a laptop backpack, mouse and mousepad on Amazon on my phone as I left. I saved around 25-30 percent buying on Amazon versus in the store.

I understand "I need it now" but damn do they expect you to pay a premium for it.

I used Fry's and Radio Shack mostly for oddball electronic components, battery chargers, etc. With same or next day delivery now offered by Amazon on many items, there isn't much advantage to going into Fry's any more for larger purchases.
