  • Fun commuter-$15k-20k or less?

So my wife and I have been tracking our fuel purchases and so far this month thru the 16th I'm a bit taken back by the amount of fuel my SUV is consuming so my thoughts are to find a somewhat fun commuter car for all the running around I do and running the kids to activities daily. I tried searching "fun commuter" but didn't find any threads.

What are some good candidates you would suggest that fits "fun commuter?" Needs four seats fwiw.

A 1999-2004 Tacoma extra cab. It is as close to an immortal machine as can be built by man and can be found for around 10k.
Magnus, I am your father. You need to ask your mother about a man named Calvin Klein.

What type of fuel milage are you seeing right now? It sounds like that will be a determining factor. If you are in a large SUV, I would assume you are seeing sub 15mpg? If you are in a crossover, something similar to an Edge, somewhere in the 18-21 mpg range depending on your driving habits. If you are in a full size, then there are a lot of options that will fit the bill. If you are in a crossover, you are going to have to search a little harder to come up with something that meets your needs.

If you are in a gas guzzler, my recommendation would be something like a G35 (or newer variations). Fun cars, I got 19-21 when I drove my wife's. It had plenty of power to get around in and not feel like you were driving a pile of shit. Comfortable and rode pretty good. My one complaint was that the road noise was a bit much for something that most consider to be on a luxury level.

In all seriousness. I would look into a Ford Focus ST

This is what I did. I drive about 70 mile each way and my only issue with it is the little fuel tank.

x3. Went to Dallas last weekend for a funeral and rode around in and drove a friends 2013 (I think) Focus ST....gotta say.....for the money...I HIGHLY doubt you could find anything more fun to drive that's reliable. Actually has me kinda thinking about looking around for one myself...comes with a very peppy turbocharged engine, great sound system, comfortable and sporty interior with very nice build quality, and those cars have quite an aftermarket support system and upgrade options.

Low mileage 2012/2013 G37s are in that price range.

Most people I talk to have nothing but good things to say about you, but you sure come across as a condescending prick. Do you have an inferiority complex you've attempted to overcome through overachievement? Or were you fondled as a child?

You and slow99 should date. You both have passive aggressiveness down pat.

When I want to get back into a fun sedan, this is what I'll be getting.

                            Right now seeing 13-16.

Leveled Yukon with 34s isn't helping lol
