  • Input from Techs at Ford/Lincoln dealerships...

    An acquaintance in Wyoming has been going back and forth with some dealership repair BS.
    One of the head scratchers is that this dealership does not use a torque wrench on the lugnuts. The guy has gotten he car back from this particular shop with the torque values all over the place.
    Is this some local dumbassery, or a Ford policy?

      Torque sticks are typically what is used.

        Who the hell checks their torque specs after they get their car back from a repair facility? If you are going through all that effort just do the work yourself IMO.

            Typically are the torque tubes pretty accurate, seems like a good design

              Because these days you pretty much need to.
              As evidenced by him finding grossly under torqued lug nuts...from the facility you ~should~ be able to trust the most.
