RIP BIL....sorry for your loss Rodney.
Originally posted by ram57ta View PostMy condolences Rodney. My uncle Jimmy (Julies father) passed away Sunday around noon. He's been in rapidly declining health since his wife (my fathers sister) passed away last February from cancer. He was diabetic and over the last few years has had numerous setbacks relating to diabetes and poor health. Glad his suffering is over and he can rejoin his wife. Sad for my cousins who have now lost both parents. I'll be back in Dallas Friday for the funeral.

My dad passed away on March 8th from diabetes, he was diagnosed about 7 years ago, kept on smoking and slowly died away (he didn't drink). He's been despondent since right before Christmas and finally succumbed to the disease.
I am trying to eat healthy but its hard, I did quit drinking like I used to, I only drink a couple of times a month these days and I don't get drunk anymore. I've been lucky, but I've partied with the best of them and I have nothing else to prove, I don't want to go out like that so I have to take care of myself the best I can...Originally posted by SilverbackLook all you want, she can't find anyone else who treats her as bad as I do, and I keep her self esteem so low, she wouldn't think twice about going anywhere else.

an update as i was going off of information that was basically a game of telephone. here is the updated group text i received last night, maybe Dr. Dave can chime in and explain it. they basically put him into an induced hypothermia to prevent his organs from shutting down, which is what was happening when we last spoke. today all i received was they are "checking his heart to see when they can check for brain activity."
as of know he is still on life support and the parents wont be here for another few hours.
Group text to update on Skylar. Megan, Eric, and I are up here with sky. Mom, Dad, and Gavin land tomorrow at 3pm. Earliest flight they could get. He basically was in Diabetic Shock early Sunday morning and just thought he had the Flu. He was with a friend and had a seizure around 3pm. She called 911 and shortly after they arrived his heart stopped. They monitored CPR for 18 minutes until they revived him at hospital. He is in the ICU. They have put him in an induced hypothermia to slow everything down. He reached 33 degrees at 9pm so they will not start warming his body until 9 PM tomorrow night. Once his body heats back up and they taper the meds that is when will will understand what his brain function is. He has gone through one level of dialysis since his potassium was at at 7.5 when he arrived (3.5-5 is normal). He is peeing which is a really great sign. His blood sugar was at 760 which is off the charts (80-100 is normal). He's on an insulin drip so it's going down). They have also reduced his blood pressure medication which is also a good sign. I will update with new info when we get it. Please only reach out to Megan or I. As you can imagine mom is a wreck and dad is ...well dad. Please send all the prayers you can and forward to anyone I didn't include. Love you all. ❤️THE BAD HOMBRE
