According to this article the cause was the drivers excessive speed and texting.
I had never thought about the impact on the first responders having t deal with the image of that scene until this. Not only are the loved ones of everyone involved affected but the fireman and police officers have to deal with it for the rest of their lives. Iv been talking to the other fireman that we're on scene and it was an awful thing to witness.
