    IMO back surgery is dangerous. My buddy hurt himself at work, they did spine surgery and botched his surgery up, he has to walk with a walker and he's in his mid-40s.

      God, I could pound out my story as well, but it's not significantly different than any of yalls. Was bending over to reach for something while at work, ended up on my knees in excruciating pain(l4-l5 l5-s1herniated, 6 and 8mil protrusion respectively). It was all downhill from there and ultimately cost my job, despite being an on the job injury.

      Got on With FedEx, sciatica hit me like a effin truck, almost cost me this job. I get the standing still being murder, but I've found the more active I am, the less pain I'm in overall. What hate is if I need to sneeze or cough while sitting, THAT sets the sciatica off.

      Oh, I highly recommend the Teeter Hangup inversion table.
