Because the builder can demand it. It's a big time sellers market there. We were lucky to get it as it is.

Yeah, home prices in Colorado are getting fucking crazy. My parents were looking to downsize somewhat in Ft Collins. 1000'ish sq ft house (think it was like a duplex style) was almost $400K, and they want 20% down before they even start the build! Stupid thing is, everybody is paying it, so they can demand it and get away with it.
