Medium well for me...and I have no problem sending it back. Uncooked meat can make you sick. Sending your food back is also a good way to get sick.
The best is when you take a date to somewhere like Bob's and they order it well done and the "don't forget the A1".
I'm like bitch, we could have gone to Applebee's for that shit.
The first time my wife came over for dinner when we started dating, I made steak. I asked her how she liked it cooked and she said medium well. I looked her in the eyes, told her the most a steak gets cooked in my house is Medium Rare. She opted for medium rare and hasn't had a steak cooked past that since. She couldn't believe the difference in flavor and tenderness of the steak.
Took my wife's family to H3 in Fort Worth a few years ago. Her aunt, who I just met at a funeral viewing for my wife's Grandfather an hour earlier asks "what will they say if I ask for ketchup for my steak?". Without even going through my internal filter I told her they would throw us out on our asses. Sure as shit, she asked for ketchup. Yep, I was embarrassed for multiple reasons. Her aunt and uncle were loaded with oil money and could afford the best in town....asked for ketchup. Proves, money can't buy taste.
We went to 135 Prime the other night and my wife orders the bone in rib eye well done. The waiter stopped writing and all 5 of us at the table stared at her in horror and I noticed the next table over was staring in shock as well. lol
I told the waiter just bring her the lobster.
Good judgment comes from bad decisions and a lot of that comes from bad judgment.
This whole topic reminds me of the time I went to a Chinese restaurant with my step dad's brother (ie my uncle but not by blood). He proceeds to order the chicken fried steak. Then the waitress asks how it was and he says "I have had better".
This guy was a trip to hang around, lifelong GM employee and a big time car guy. He had five or six early sixties impalas at all times. He died a couple of years ago. I'll always remember that chicken fried steak though.

What's your beef with NPR, because their listeners are typically more informed than others?
