My 18 year old was pissed off by his high school teacher. She turned her back to walk back to her desk and he acted liked he was shooting her with his hand.

Low and behold the teacher's asst saw it and reported to the SRO/Asst Principal via email who came to the class to remove him immediately.

He now has a citation, a court appearance, a mandatory suspension, and a glorious 60 day (school day, not including weekends) stay at the "SOC" (Student Opportunity Center) to help him learn the error of his ways.....

I supposed you'd hear a parent talk about how their baby didn't mean it, they are blowing things out of proportion, it was innocent, blah blah blah..... not here. He was a fucking idiot and given shit you see about Columbine and all the other shootings - what the fuck were you thinking?!?!?!

/rant will continue to be on since he has no car or license and the SOC is 8mi from our house.

Regarding "the beating" - nah, not coming... I'm a strict parent and usually over-punish, but based upon what he has coming with this stunt, he's learning his lesson.. I'm not paying a thing and given the fact that I'm his dad, I can tell he is truly remorseful.

I told him, I'd like to yell, scream or punish you, but you're getting far worse through the system than I could ever deal to you at this point....

It sounds to me like you're handling it well. I have a twenty one week old boy, so I've got all of the challenges of raising a child properly ahead of me. One of my many concerns is that the majority of his peers will be raised by parents and single parents who couldn't care less about their children and let them become a product of their surroundings thus making my responsibility of raising a respectful, considerate, intelligent, productive young man even harder.
