  • Who picks up scrap cars in FW

I have a deconstructed 04 GT chassis in my garage and I need it gone. Junk yards aren't buying scrapped out cars right now due to low scrap metal prices. Does anyone know of a place that will pick up a non-rolling chassis?

Plenty of guys in CraigsList will haul it away. Just expect them to want it for free or be paid to remove it.

I certainly don't expect to get paid for it, I just want it gone. Paying a bit to have to hauled off would be fine as well. I'll check that out, thanks for the tip.

How hard would it be to get it on a 16' trailer?

My buddy Dean with Two Bit Tow picks up all mine. You won't get paid though....

If you have a trailer with a winch, probably not too hard to get on a trailer. The chassis has no suspension what so ever.

A few years back I had one hauled off by a craigslist creeper and made $200.

Last year I had to call the closest junk yard to me and get their preferred towing companies' number to haul it off for free.

              Thanks China!

Is it titled in your name? Put some dolly wheels under it and abandon it in the walmart parking lot.

Unfortunately, it is titled in my name...I've thought about removing the vin tags, cut it down to smaller pieces, and depositing it in various places. I just can't bring myself to be that way.

remove the vin and dump it on the side of I-20...thats what all the roofers do with their 50 dollar trailers when the axle breaks from the weight.

There's some charities that will do that:

If you can do that, can't you just go ahead and haul the pieces to the scrapyard?

I'm sure a scrap yard is going to be picky about paper work and make its a process. It sounds like he just wants to sign the title and have some one take it and the work involved in scrapping it away as easily as possible
