  • Gun Fire in my NE D hood last night

    A lot.

    Anyone else see/hear it?

Happened around 9pm. Saw shooter's muzzle blast in my security cameras, shooting from a car. Called 911 and I checked the police active calls list and saw a couple more complaints @ Ferguson and Millmar..Bryan Adams High School area.
Shooter seemed to be driving an older dark blue Honda or something like it. Immediately after firing the shots, he appeared to be joined by a white 2000ish Chevrolet Tahoe or Suburban and some other SUV.
I can see why people want gun control. But I am sure glad I had the 1911. And gun control would only have changed THAT...and not the fact that this murderous little bastard gang had a gun. Scum.

I know, right? Ghetto-style celebratin'. Ushering in the new president and shit.
Thing is, like you're saying, I hear shots occasionally off in the distance...like down at John West and Buckner...used to do street racing near there, Big Town....but I saw this go down in my cameras. Car with shooter literally 2 houses away shooting a high caliber hand gun. With all the technology that's out there...someone has got to know enough to bust trifling fools shooting up the neighborhoods.
Heard back from another homeboy they were shooting up Garland Rd. Near NW yesterday too. Prolly the same initiation. So brave. And gangs are full of these brave guys.

Celebratory gunfire (like after a soccer game goal, or a touchdown) is not uncommon around here, either.

If you don't already have one, I'd upgrade from chain-link to sturdy 6'+ privacy fence (8' preferred, 9' being code-dictated maximum in this zone). Seems like most homes have chain-link fences around here, which I cannot fathom being comfortable with.

FYI I've got a place near Estacado/Peavy, so by all means lets share what we know to help each other, neighbor

I overheard some oak cliff folks at our docks talking about shooting into the air on New Years. I asked them "why didn't you shoot into the ground instead?"

They looked at me puzzled and replied....

                  "Isn't that dangerous?"

I grew up in the neighborhood, still have friends that live there. Im in a Casa View FB group and the post of gunfire in that neighborhood is constant. Im more surprised that this is the first time you've heard it....

Meanwhile my camaro lays in hiding from the neighbors who called me into the HOA, or should I say posted on our neighborhoods Facebook page on Facebook in mckinney. Apparently I scare dogs and small children when I start my car

insulting, rude, stuck up, self important
These are a few of my least favorite things.
Don't let them bully you on social media. They are cowards....because they called you out on the internet!!!

I'm not saying to start a war with your neighbor, just live your life out loud.....jmho.
