        Here's the math.

Kilowatt per hour rate = Bill (sans taxes)/kilowatt hours

        45.25/362 = $.125/kilowatt hour

Not bad, but my quote for that area is starts at $.112 below 500kw/hr and drops big time to $.089 upto 1000kw/hr. And again to $.088 after 1000kw/hr.

I have a feeling taxes play a part but...

        46.32/560 = $.082714 (call it .083)
Not bad. How long have you been with them? I'd speculate that, just like any other commodity, you got in on the downward slope.

The rate per kWh before taxes is 0.08. I went with this provider since they offered long term contracts (two years in my case), the same rate per kWh across all usage levels (with no minimum), and no base customer charge. I used the powertochoose website, as I have done since 2003.

I have changed providers every time my contracts have ended.

Not bad. You'd be shocked how few even know one can switch. Sad, rally. Me, I'm 1/2 way to free electricity.

Should I change the name of the thread to: Darren M tries to sell you electricity?

Yep, and only 1 provider here. I've really considered doing the solar panels to force them to buy electricity during the summer and try to cut the bills down for the winter.
