With many choices like Square Space and Go Daddy, do any of you have any feedback you can share. I think I am pretty well decided but wanted to get additional feedback. My website needs are rather basic and I feel one of these off the shelf options would be more than adequate.

    Thanks

Assuming it's a website for business and that there's any sort of competition, do you care if people can find it organically?

it is for business and finding it organically will always be a bonus. Most business will come from networking and grassroots marketing. The number one need for a site would be to have a place to visit once my card or information is in the clients hand.

I don't have any Square Space experience from a business web site but I built a website for the local bass club I fish with. I started a website for my business but haven't finished it as I don't really have a strong need for it.

I like the simplicity of editing with Square Space.

Check it out if you give a hoot: www.5alivebassclub.com

I've heard some decent things about SquareSpace, but stay away from Wix.

As with anything, you get what you pay for. That said, I understand that not every site needs to be super professional, especially when you're just starting out.

One word of advice: the greatest impact on organic search results is going to be fresh, relevant content (blogging helps) and social media activity that drives traffic back to the site.

does anyone know if I have a current site but want to be able to make changes, if SquareSpace will work for that? I had a website built, the partner who did it scammed us and now I have to find a program to do the website editing myself. Its basic changes like pictures and text but I dont know where to begin

Yes you can make changes. I don't know if you will be able to upload your existing site or not
