I have a friend who has driven for them part time for a while. He said the only way to really make any money is to drive during the surge pricing hours.
I've asked a few drivers during chit chat. They all say they make about $15 an hour during normal drive times.

Most people I talk to have nothing but good things to say about you, but you sure come across as a condescending prick. Do you have an inferiority complex you've attempted to overcome through overachievement? Or were you fondled as a child?
You and slow99 should date. You both have passive aggressiveness down pat.

This, I took one up in Lubbock around 1am on a Saturday and it was almost $20 to go 1 mile from the bars to my hotel. I also have a friend who drives during football games in Baton Rouge and he had a $150 ride before the Bama game, he made over $300 in 6 hours driving during surge pricing.
I use Uber a lot wherever we overnight. I have an app on my phone and always had a good experience. I try not to use them during peak times.
All modern cars and decent drivers.
I do hear Lyft is catching up to Uber and should overtake them soon.
