Had to put my best bud in the ground Sunday night. Got home from hunting and found him. He looked like he laid down for a nap and never got up. Thank godness I found him before the wife and kids did.
"It's another burrito, it's a cold Lone Star in my hand!"
Really sorry for your loss. I know I am not looking forward to our big dogs getting older (8 and 9 years old now).
Honestly, I would rather lose a pet that way than drawn out illness or having to make the decision to put them down. Hopefully ours go peacefully and at home when that time comes.
I am very sorry that you lost your dog. He looks like one hell of a big boy. There is nothing better then having a huge mean dog that loves your children. Is the second one in the swing set pic still with you?
Edit: My dog also goes ape shit crazy when I get on a swing.
Magnus, I am your father. You need to ask your mother about a man named Calvin Klein.
Sorry for your loss. Dogs are often closer to us and better friends than humans. My newest is only a little over a year old, and that joker has already latched on to me tightly.
So sorry for your loss man, it's the worst. Lost my shepherd two years ago and I still get teary eyed thinking about her.
Like Chili said that's the best case scenario vs. long draw out pain. I found my shepherd right after letting her in the morning, she didn't report for breakfast. She was stretched out in her spot in the yard, like she just relaxed and passed away. It was probably painless but untimely and that made it harder.
